Job summary

First Merchants Bank seeks a Fraud Strategy & Analytics Specialist to centralize and enhance fraud prevention/detection, aligning tools with business goals and proactively identifying trends. Hybrid work schedule within our footprint.

The role requires 3+ years in fraud prevention or risk management, plus expertise with fraud analytics tools and strong collaboration with internal teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, information systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in fraud prevention, risk management, or financial technology.
• Fraud Analytics Experience with one or more fraud detection tools or platforms such as NICE/Actimise, Q2 Sentinel, FICO, Abrigo BAM+, Vertifi, TrueChecks, Alloy, etc.

Responsibilities

• Attend vendor/user group meetings to stay current on tool capabilities and updates.
• Monitor system changes and assess impact on fraud detection and prevention.
• Understand capabilities of existing fraud tools and identify opportunities for enhancement.
• Coordinate with LOBs to support decision-making related to fraud tools and strategies.
• Document current state, key decisions, and maintain up-to-date tool configurations.
• Research and recommend leading practices in fraud prevention and technology utilization.
• Identify and analyze fraud trends across channels and products.
• Participate in fraud triage to support rapid response and resolution.
• Provide recommendations for tuning and configuration of fraud detection systems.
• Bring forward ideas to improve fraud prevention strategies and align tool usage with business goals.
