North Carolina Department of Insurance seeks an Attorney II (NS) to present and explain evidence gathered by the department in criminal prosecutions involving insurance fraud and bail bonds crimes. The role coordinates with District Attorneys to advance cases toward trial and may serve in a resource prosecutor capacity with NCCDA.

Formación

• Licensed to practice law in NC with at least 1 year of professional legal experience.
• Knowledge of NC General Statutes Chapters 14, 15, 15A, and 58, relating to criminal law, criminal procedure, and insurance.

Responsabilidades

• Review investigative reports and evidence related to insurance fraud and bail bonds crimes.
• Present and explain findings to District Attorneys; respond to questions on charges.
• Provide information to assist District Attorneys in prosecuting criminal cases.
• Coordinate with District Attorneys and Senior Deputy to set case priorities and advance cases toward trial.
• Assist with prosecution of insurance-related fraud and other criminal matters as assigned.
• Apply relevant criminal statutes, rules of evidence and procedures in evaluating cases.
• Conduct legal research, evaluate facts, and communicate conclusions clearly in writing and orally.
• Maintain effective working relationships with Department personnel and prosecutorial partners.
