Job summary

Crossmint is building the infrastructure for programmable finance. We seek an experienced Anti-Fraud Engineer to own scoring, rules, and models across onboarding, transfers, and card transactions.

You will measure outcomes, reduce fraud costs, and lead incident responses within Identity, Compliance & Risk. The role reports to the Engineering Manager for Identity, Compliance & Risk and works with Risk Operations, Compliance, Legal, Security, and product teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production systems.
• 3+ years focused on fraud, risk, or trust and safety.
• Experience with payments, card, or crypto fraud risk is a plus.
• Hands-on ownership of a rules engine or model-serving path.
• Strong programming skills in at least one modern language (TypeScript preferred).
• Fluency in metrics like catch rate, false-positive rate and loss rate.

Responsibilities

• Build and own services that score and decide onboarding attempts, transfers, and card transactions.
• Turn analyst judgement into production rules with versioning and backtesting.
• Develop signals: device, behavior, velocity, counterparty, and graph relationships across clients.
• Measure decision impact and publish catch rate, false positives, and loss metrics.
• Lead fraud incident response and on-call rotation.
• Create tools for analysts: case management, queues, and rule tuning.
