Job summary

Crossmint is hiring its first dedicated Anti-Fraud Engineer to own fraud decisioning across onboarding, transfers, and card transactions. You will build production rules, models, and signals, and work with Risk Operations, Compliance, Legal, Security, and product teams.

You will own detection for account takeover, mule networks, synthetic identities, and promo abuse, lead incident response, and drive fast, data-driven decisions while collaborating with a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production systems, with 3+ years in fraud, risk, or trust & safety.
• Proven track record where fraud cost mattered and gains were proven.
• Hands-on ownership of a rules engine or model-serving path in production.
• Strong programming skills in at least one modern language; TypeScript preferred.
• Fluency with metrics and trade-offs: catch rate, false positives, and loss.
• Comfort with SQL and doing data-driven analysis.
• Ability to size controls against loss and product friction.
• Knowledge of AI tooling and evolving fraud tech.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Own fraud decisioning for onboarding, transfers, and card transactions.
• Detect and respond to fraud patterns; cut time from pattern to live control.
• Lead fraud incidents and participate in on-call rotations.
• Provide analysts with tooling: case management, queues, and rule tuning.
• Keep product teams informed with evidence for compliance and audits.
