The State of Indiana, through the Family & Social Services Administration (FSSA), is seeking a Special Investigator based in Seymour, Indiana. The role focuses on investigating allegations of employee, client, and provider fraud across the agency, with travel across southern Indiana and occasional cases in Marion County.

The position emphasizes deterrence, recoupment of funds, and program integrity within state services.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of investigative principles and practices.
• Working knowledge of Indiana Criminal Codes is preferred.
• Knowledge of food stamp, Medicaid, TANF, and childcare development programs is beneficial.
• Ability to communicate effectively and interpret policies.
• Experience applying knowledge in similar roles is valued.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate allegations of fraud within the FSSA.
• Pursue administrative, civil, and criminal actions as appropriate.
• Travel to cover southern Indiana and Marion County as needed.
• Develop and update policies and procedures related to the program.
• Prepare and present monthly and annual program reports.
• Review budgets and ensure proper allocation of program assets.
• Provide training and guidance to agency employees on program requirements.
