Job summary

The State of Indiana seeks a Senior Investigator to reduce fraud within the Bureau of Motor Vehicles and oversee investigations of misconduct, security breaches, and property damage. You will articulate findings clearly and provide testimony when required while ensuring that security procedures are upheld at agency facilities and supervising assigned staff.

Qualifications

• Seven years full-time professional experience in corrections, investigative work, law enforcement, or military police.
• At least four years of investigative work experience.
• Extensive knowledge of investigative principles and terminology.
• Extensive knowledge of security procedures.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, and agency procedures.
• Knowledge of due process and criminal/civil liability.
• Ability to present evidence and testify at hearings.

Responsibilities

• Review and investigate practices within a state agency to ensure laws and regulations are followed.
• Investigate security issues and address violations identified by management.
• Inspect agency facilities to ensure security and safety procedures are in place.
• Review records to ascertain misappropriation of public funds.
• Submit investigative reports and findings related to mismanagement of agency laws and regulations.
• Work with staff to resolve identified security and safety concerns.
• Assist in reviewing applications for occupational licenses and conduct background checks.
• Inspect living, dining, working, and recreational areas within agency facilities.
• Provide testimony at hearings, trials, appeals and criminal proceedings.
