Job summary

Akerman LLP seeks an associate with 3 to 5 years of transactional franchise experience to join our expanding national franchise practice. The ideal candidate will handle FDDs, franchise agreements, registrations, and regulatory matters while supporting general franchise compliance. Remote/flexible work arrangements are available.

Candidate must have a J.D. from an ABA‑accredited school and bar admission in the resident jurisdiction or eligibility to obtain it promptly.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of transactional franchise experience.
• Desire to learn and grow in serving the franchise community.
• Experience with FDDs, franchise agreements, franchise registrations, default and termination issues, and miscellaneous franchise regulatory, relationship, and compliance matters.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions in the franchise space, international franchise licensing transactions, and dispute resolution would be a plus.
• Excellent legal research, writing and analytical skills are required.
