Job summary

Akerman LLP seeks an associate with 3 to 5 years of transactional franchise experience. The ideal candidate will support a rapidly expanding national franchise practice and handle FDDs, franchise agreements, registrations, and termination issues.

Remote/flexible work arrangements are available, and a JD from an ABA-accredited school with bar admission is required. Strong research, writing and analytical skills are essential, and experience with M&A in the franchise space or international

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
• 3–5 years of transactional franchise experience.
• Excellent legal research, writing and analytical skills.
• Experience with FDDs, franchise agreements, franchise registrations, default and termination issues, and miscellaneous franchise regulatory, relationship, and compliance matters.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions in the franchise space, international franchise licensing transactions, and dispute resolution a plus.
