Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper in Oregon to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll, and dedicated client service.

You will post financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and generate financial statements while supporting tax statement preparation and payroll processing. Ideal candidates will have 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, familiarity with Xero, and national bookkeeping certifications or the ability to obtain them.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP & procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations.
• Discretion with confidential information and professional conduct.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
