Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. in Oregon seeks an entry-level Bookkeeper to enter operational data into the client’s bookkeeping system and determine the best method to record financial information. The role involves manual data entry, check endorsement and daily deposits, and basic ledger reconciliation.

You will balance ledgers, prepare periodic reports on income, expenses, and taxes, and assist with payroll processing in compliance with wage laws. No prior experience is required and training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Enter operational data into the client’s bookkeeping system and determine the best method to record financial information (income, expenses, returned checks, bank charges, labor hours/codes).
• Manually record information and ensure proper endorsement and daily deposit of checks.
• Balance and reconcile ledgers and bank accounts; prepare routine reports on income, expenses, taxes and other needs.
• Assist with payroll processing and payroll reports compliant with wage and hour laws.
