Job summary

Gofractional seeks a senior engineering leader to define the technical vision and architecture for a privacy-first platform ingesting clinical, wearables, and genomics data. You will lead vendor strategies for EHR/data platforms, ensure HIPAA-compliant security and data governance, and translate product needs into executable engineering roadmaps.

You will coordinate distributed teams, review code and APIs, and mentor engineers while maintaining focus on production readiness and reliability.

Qualifications

Proven senior engineering leadership with hands-on technical background.
Experience building or integrating healthcare data platforms including EHRs, wearables, or genomics.
Knowledge of data privacy and regulatory requirements for health data (HIPAA).
Experience evaluating third-party health data vendors and APIs.
Experience coordinating distributed engineering teams (offshore/nearshore/onshore).
Ability to scope projects, estimate effort, and communicate tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
Comfort balancing product strategy with hands-on execution; able to review code/architecture.

Responsibilities

Define technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for a privacy-first, production-ready platform ingesting clinical, wearables, and genomics data.
Lead vendor evaluation and integration strategy for EHR/data-ingestion rails and third-party data platforms and APIs.
Design/implement robust security, encryption, and data governance to meet HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
Translate product requirements into engineering scope, timelines, and cost estimates; prioritize work for demos vs production readiness.
Act as a hands-on senior engineer/product lead when needed—review code, design APIs, validate deliverables.
Recruit, onboard, and oversee onshore/nearshore/offshore teams or partners to ensure quality delivery.
Serve as primary technical liaison to clinicians, founders, and advisors; communicate risks and paths.
Create testing, deployment, and monitoring strategies to ensure reliability and data integrity.
Mentor engineers and establish engineering best practices (CI/CD, code reviews, security audits).
Provide actionable research and vendor due-diligence outputs to inform fundraising/partnerships.
