Job summary

Jobgether is representing a partner organization seeking a Fractional General Counsel based in the United States. The role provides strategic legal guidance to a mission-driven nonprofit with projects spanning global health, animal welfare, AI safety, and governance.

The position is remote, ~20–24 hours per week, with potential growth. You will handle governance, contracts, immigration, and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions, balancing risk with operational speed.

Qualifications

• Authorized to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction, with US bar admission preferred.
• Minimum five years of legal practice experience, especially in nonprofit law and related areas.
• Strong understanding of US nonprofit structures, 501(c)(3) requirements, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Advise on nonprofit governance, fiscal sponsorship, contracts, employment law, immigration, and cross-border regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contractor, service, grant, and IP agreements with appropriate risk allocation.
• Provide timely legal guidance on regulatory compliance, risk, and strategic partnerships with senior leadership.
