Job summary

Seaside Arts Center is seeking a Fractional Director of Development to design and drive a comprehensive fundraising strategy. You will lead efforts across foundations, government grants, and major donors while coordinating with the Executive Director and board.

This role emphasizes relationship building, grant writing, and developing sustainable fundraising systems. The position is part-time, contract-based with hybrid work in San Diego, CA.

Qualifications

• Significant nonprofit fundraising experience, preferably in arts/education/youth development.
• Proven success securing grants and cultivating individual donors.
• Ability to translate mission into a persuasive case for support.
• Strong writing, research and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working with executive directors and boards.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement a comprehensive development and fundraising plan for Seaside Arts Center.
• Develop an annual fundraising plan with revenue goals and timelines.
• Identify opportunities for foundation, corporate, and government funding; manage calendars and reports.
• Cultivate major donors and manage donor communications and stewardship.
• Develop partnerships and sponsorships with local businesses and community organizations.
• Support board development and provide progress reports at meetings.
• Establish donor tracking systems and generate dashboards to monitor activity and revenue.
