Job description

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Development (Fractional) for a nationally recognized, mission-driven nonprofit organization advancing research, education, and patient advocacy within the healthcare sector. This is a remote, part-time contractual position (10–12 hours/week) with occasional travel as needed.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Development will provide strategic fundraising leadership to strengthen and expand a growing national nonprofit’s revenue streams. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will design and guide a comprehensive development strategy with a focus on corporate partnerships, major gifts, and grant funding. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned fundraising professional seeking flexible, high-impact work in a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to diversify and grow revenue
  • Cultivate and secure corporate partnerships, sponsorships, major gifts, and grant funding
  • Conduct prospect research and lead generation to identify high-impact funding opportunities
  • Draft compelling grant proposals, sponsorship materials, and donor communications
  • Advise leadership and board members on donor cultivation, stewardship, and engagement strategies
  • Recommend and support implementation of donor tracking systems and development best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising, corporate partnerships, or philanthropic strategy
  • Experience designing and executing multi-channel fundraising initiatives
  • Strong relationship-building and donor engagement skills across diverse stakeholders
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and remote collaboration tools
  • Clear, persuasive written and verbal communication skills
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This fractional contractual role offers competitive compensation at $50 per hour, with opportunity for renewal and potential rate increase based on organizational growth and mutual agreement.
