Job summary

Resourcive is seeking a Cyber Security Advisor to join our Cyber Practice and deliver client-facing advisory services with substantial autonomy. You will work with mid-market and enterprise IT leaders on framework-based assessments, CISO advisory, and security program design.

You should bring 5–8+ years of cybersecurity advisory experience, a practitioner background translated into consultancy, and excellent written communication for executive audiences.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8+ years of cybersecurity experience in a client-facing advisory, consulting, or fractional role.
• Technical practitioner background translated into advisory work; not hands-on operation.
• Ability to manage relationships at CIO/Director level, setting expectations and delivering findings.
• Experience designing or managing security programs from gap analysis to measurable progress.
• Strong written communication; ability to craft board summaries or executive business cases.

Responsibilities

• Lead framework-based gap assessments (NIST CSF, CIS Controls, SOC 2) and translate findings into prioritized roadmaps.
• Serve as a fractional CISO for mid-market and enterprise clients; advise on security program structure and vendor management.
• Design and manage ongoing security programs; define cadence, track progress, and oversee MSP/MSSP relationships.
• Help clients communicate posture and investment decisions to executives; draft board presentations and risk summaries.
• Adjust program direction as business needs evolve while maintaining momentum and client confidence.
• Participate in structured vendor selection processes for security technologies and managed services.
• Support contract and commercial negotiations alongside senior advisors.
• Represent the Cyber Practice at industry events and contribute to engagement methodology.
