Job summary

Novus Property Solutions is looking for a FRA Carpenter to join our social housing team, delivering fire door installation and remedial works across Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Walsall. The site-based role offers stable, long-term work with Monday–Friday hours (39 per week) and a hybrid pattern (3 days remote).

Ideal candidates will hold a joinery/carpentry qualification (Level 2+) with FIRAS desirable, a full UK driving licence and DBS check.

Qualifications

• Experience as a FRA Carpenter in social housing projects.
• Joinery/carpentry qualification level 2 or above.
• FIRAS qualifications desirable for candidate advantage.

Responsibilities

• Installation of fire doors and remedial works in social housing.
• Work with tenants and other trades on site as needed.
• Use job tickets or handheld devices to manage daily tasks.
• Maintain adherence to Novus' health and safety standards.
• Complete a skills test including door installation if required.

This is an exciting opportunity for a FRA Carpenter to join Novus Property Solutions, planned works team providing high-quality Fire Door installation and remedial works within Social Housing tenanted properties.

An outline of your responsibilities and experience

• Installation of fire doors and completion of remedial works within a social housing environment
• Previous experience in social housing, including working directly with tenants, is desirable
• Ability to work from job tickets or handheld devices on a daily basis
• Work collaboratively with other trades and the wider site or contract team, while managing your own workload effectively
• Successful candidates may be required to complete a skills test, including the installation of a fire door
• Adhere to Novus' high standards of health and safety at all times
• Ideal candidates will have a joinery/carpentry qualification at level 2 or above, FIRAS qualifcations are desirable
• Full UK driving licence is essential
• This role is subject to a DBS check
