Job summary

Novus Property Solutions is hiring a Roofer to join a team delivering roofing services for social housing tenants. You will cover Stoke on Trent and surrounding areas, typically Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week, with a hybrid schedule (2 days remote).

The role requires experience in pitched or flat roofing, knowledge of BS 5534/BS 8000, and relevant qualifications. A UK driving license and DBS check are required; training and development are available.

Qualifications

• Experience working on pitched and/or flat roofing systems.
• Background in social housing roofing on tenanted properties.
• Qualifications and training for roofing systems and safety.
• Knowledge of BS 5534 and BS 8000 is desirable.

Responsibilities

Summary

Roofer

Location: Pick up Stoke on Trent (Shared Van) working onsite covering Burton, Lichfield, Nottingham and surrounding areas - typically working Monday to Friday 39 hours

An outline of your responsibilities and experience

• Traditional Social Housing pitched roofs, removing plain tiles, replacing with a variety of tiles as required and relevant insulation measures to current British standards
• Familiar with felt and baton
• Lead work to chimneys, stepping details and valleys
• Gauging out
• Slate roofing experience desirable
• Breathable system compliant with current fixings meeting British standard specifications and competent roofer
• Manage Systems to ensure they are up to date and accurate
• Follow and enforce company health and safety procedures
• Working from job tickets on a hand held device

Candidates will also require Working at Height, Asbestos Awareness and Manual Handling training. Where these certifications have expired, refresher training can be provided by Novus.

Experience in pitched and/or flat roofing systems.

Knowledge of current roofing standards, including BS 5534 and BS 8000

Knowledge and qualifications in; NVQ Level 3 Roofing Occupations or Competent Roofer Scheme experience preferred.

Manufacturer-approved roofing system training (e.g., Bauder, IKO, Sika, Marley, Redland).

PASMA, IPAF and Solar PV experience are all advantageous

This role will require a Full UK Driving License

The role will require a DBS check to be taken
