Job Description

SAIC is seeking an FPGA Systems Engineer to join the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons & Guided Munitions Division team in Dahlgren, VA. The position involves software development for Naval gun weapons systems, including maintaining flight executive code, developing and integrating hardware/software interfaces, and troubleshooting. The engineer will collaborate with a team of engineers and programmers to deliver products to DoD customers.

Job Duties

1. Develop embedded systems software in C/C++.
2. Create real-time Linux applications for resource-constrained systems.
3. Develop FPGA firmware to meet mission needs.
4. Maintain FPGA firmware and develop/integrate new hardware/software interfaces.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline from an accredited institution, with at least nine years of experience; years of experience may substitute for a degree.

Required Skills

• Experience in FPGA firmware development and hardware/software interface integration.
• Knowledge of analog and digital design, including serial communication, logic design, power design, signal filtering, and wave shaping.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams with software, firmware, mechanical, and systems engineers.
• Experience with configuration management tools for version control.
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as C/C++, Verilog, Python, TCL, Shell scripts, and Git.

Security Clearance
