Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking a Sr FPGA Engineering Manager to lead and mentor a team of FPGA engineers in Buffalo, NY. You will derive FPGA requirements from system specs, design reusable modules with VHDL, and guide verification and documentation efforts.

The role demands 5+ years in VHDL/FPGA, strong leadership, and hands-on lab experience with test equipment. On-site work in Elma, NY is required, with competitive compensation and a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in EE/CE or related field.
• 5+ years of VHDL/FPGA experience and proven leadership.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and mentoring skills.
• Experience with laboratory hardware and debugging tools.
• Knowledge of interfaces/protocols (SPI, I2C, MIL-STD-1553) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of ~5 FPGA engineers.
• Assign projects and monitor progress within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Provide development and performance reviews for direct reports.
• Drive continuous improvement of FPGA activities within processes.
• Develop FPGA designs using VHDL focused on reusability.
• Oversee design reviews, verification, and documentation.
