Job summary

GE HealthCare in Niskayuna, NY seeks an Embedded Firmware Engineer specializing in FPGA development and real-time control. You will design firmware interfacing with power electronics, ASICs, and imaging hardware for CT/MR/Ultrasound platforms.

You will implement and test signal processing between FPGAs and processors, develop real-time C/C++ firmware, and drive timing closure and hardware/software co-design. Hybrid onsite schedule Tue-Thu.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in synchronous digital design and RTL coding.
• Experience with FPGA development and SoC platforms (Altera, Xilinx, Zynq).
• Proficient in Verilog/VHDL and hardware–firmware interaction.
• Experience with verification tools (Quartus, QuestaSim) and STA workflows.

Responsibilities

• Implement and test signal processing and interfaces between FPGAs, processors, ASICs, and imaging subsystems.
• Design FPGAs and ASICs using VHDL/Verilog and perform timing closure.
• Develop real-time embedded firmware in C/C++ for mixed-signal hardware.
• Create deterministic, low-latency control loops and high-speed data routines.
• Interface with sensors, analog front ends, actuators, RF subsystems.
