RTX in the MPD division is seeking an FPGA Engineer II to join our onsite team in McKinney, Texas. The role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance, with active clearance preferred.

You will deliver full lifecycle support for FPGA designs across AMD Xilinx, Altera, and Microchip, writing VHDL, verifying designs, and aiding architecture development. The role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and growth within a security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field are valued.
• FPGA/ASIC design experience in gigabit interfaces, RF DSP, controls, data links or embedded processing.

Responsibilities

• Provide full lifecycle support of production-quality FPGA designs for vendors and device families (AMD Xilinx, Altera, Microchip).
• Generate FPGA designs for gigabit interfaces, RF DSP, controls, data links and embedded processing.
• Assist with architecture development of FPGA-based systems to determine parts and CONOPS.
• Design and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability.
• Support design verification with self-checking tests and coverage tracking.
• Report execution status against budget and schedule using agile methods.
• Create documentation including requirements, verification plan and user guides.
• Present work to leadership and engage in professional growth.
