ALO in Beverly Hills, CA is seeking a strategic, hands-on Manager of FP&A, Retail to own planning for our growing physical store footprint, partnering with Store Ops, Real Estate, and Planning leadership.

You will lead the budget, quarterly forecast, and long-range planning for the Retail channel, own the store P&L portfolio, and drive performance reviews and capital investment analyses for new and existing stores.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of FP&A, corporate finance, or operations finance.
  • Experience in retail, apparel, or consumer businesses with a physical store footprint preferred.
  • Experience managing or mentoring analysts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA is a plus.
  • Deep expertise in store-level P&L, four-wall economics, and capital investment analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and long-range planning for the Retail channel, including sales, payroll, occupancy, and opex.
  • Own the store P&L portfolio and deliver monthly performance reviews to senior leadership, translating results into insights and actions.
  • Oversee the monthly close review with Accounting, ensuring variance explanations and accruals are accurate.
  • Own the new store investment model and present proformas (IRR, NPV, payback, sensitivity) to executives.
  • Partner with Real Estate on lease evaluations, remodels, relocations, and closures.
  • Partner with Store Operations on labor planning and productivity to improve profitability.
  • Lead post-opening reviews and portfolio health assessments, flag underperforming stores and advise actions.
  • Develop and define key store performance metrics and scalable reporting for visibility across the org.
  • Drive process improvements and automation across planning and reporting tools.
  • Manage, coach, and develop FP&A Analysts, setting priorities and ensuring deliverable quality.
  • Lead ad-hoc strategic projects as needed.

OVERVIEW

ALO is seeking a strategic, hands-on finance leader to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team. As the Manager of FP&A, Retail, you will own financial planning and performance management for our fast-growing physical store footprint. This role will serve as the primary finance partner to Store Operations, Real Estate, and Planning leadership, driving store profitability, guiding capital investment decisions for new and existing stores, and leading a team of analysts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and long-range planning processes for the Retail channel, including sales, payroll, occupancy, and opex
  • Own the store P&L portfolio and deliver monthly performance reviews to senior leadership, translating results into clear insights and recommended actions
  • Oversee the monthly close review in partnership with Accounting, ensuring accurate variance explanations and accruals
  • Own the new store investment model and approval process, presenting proformas (IRR, NPV, payback period, and sensitivity analysis) to executive leadership
  • Partner with Real Estate on lease evaluations and remodel, relocation, and closure decisions

  • Manage, coach, and develop FP&A Analyst(s), setting priorities and ensuring the quality of deliverables
  • Lead ad-hoc strategic projects across the business, as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or operations finance
  • Experience in retail, apparel, or consumer businesses with a physical store footprint strongly preferred
  • Experience managing or mentoring analysts
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA is a plus
  • Deep expertise in store-level P&Ls, four-wall economics, and capital investment analysis
  • Proven ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to senior leadership and influence decisions across functions
  • Strong business partnering skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with non-finance teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with shifting priorities
  • Advanced competency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with planning systems and BI tools
  • Experience with ERP implementations, including representing FP&A requirements and supporting system design, testing, and adoption

The base salary range for this position is $120,000-$145,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company's total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
