Job description

K1x is the leading tax technology platform modernizing the private markets tax ecosystem. The company digitizes, automates, standardizes, and distributes Schedule K-1 and related tax data across stakeholders including LPs, GPs, CPA firms, tax-exempt entities, banks, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals. K1x describes its own mission as modernizing the alternative investment ecosystem - eliminating tax data drudgery so investors and their advisors can focus on decisions, not paperwork.

K1x's AI-powered extraction engine that has been trained on more than one million K-1s and 180,000+ annotated whitepaper pages and powers a growing product suite designed to eliminate manual tax workflows and unlock data-driven insights across the industry, including K1 Aggregator, K1 Creator, 990 Tracker, and K1xChange. K1x partners with the nation's largest accounting firms, institutional investors, family offices, and enterprise organizations, and serves more than 40,000 client organizations.

The Opportunity

K1x is building out its finance function to support its next stage of growth. This is a newly created FP&A Manager role that will play a central part in bringing rigor, forecasting discipline, and investor-grade reporting to a fast-scaling, PE-backed SaaS business.

What You'll Do
  • Own the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, partnering with department leaders across Sales, Customer Success, Product, and G&A
  • Build and maintain financial models covering revenue, unit economics, headcount, and cash runway to support board- and investor-level decision making
  • Prepare recurring board and investor reporting packages, including key SaaS metrics such as ARR, net revenue retention, CAC/LTV, gross margin, and burn multiple
  • Deliver monthly variance analysis (actuals vs. budget vs. forecast) with clear, actionable commentary for leadership
  • Support scenario planning and ad hoc analyses tied to growth initiatives, pricing, and resource allocation
  • Help stand up and improve FP&A tools, systems, and processes as the finance function scales post-investment
  • Partner with the CEO, CFO, and executive team on materials for board meetings, investor updates, and potential M&A activity
  • Partner closely with Accounting on close-related deliverables (revenue recognition, reconciliations, month-end close) so forecasts tie cleanly back to reported actuals — K1x is concurrently building out this side of the finance team
Requirements
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience, ideally from private equity, investment banking, or a transaction advisory practice (e.g., PwC, KPMG, Deloitte, EY, Grant Thornton, RSM, Baker Tilly, CBIZ), or comparable in-house FP&A experience
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial data into clear narratives for non-finance stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth, PE-backed environment with evolving processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CFA, CPA, or MBA a plus
  • Familiarity with SaaS/subscription business metrics; NetSuite experience a strong plus, as it's K1x's system of record for accounting and finance
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation and equity participation
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Flexible PTO and company-recognized holidays
  • Fully remote work environment
  • 401(k) program
  • Paid parental leave
Why K1x
  • Industry-leading AI platform trained on over one million K-1 documents and a proprietary data moat competitors cannot easily replicate
  • Opportunity to help define and lead a rapidly evolving category within private markets tax technology
  • High-impact role with direct influence on company growth, market positioning, and product strategy
  • Collaborative, execution-focused culture built for operators and builders
  • Competitive compensation, equity participation, and comprehensive benefits package
