Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a Lead Specialist, Financial Planning & Analysis to support the Director of FP&A with high‑quality financial analysis, planning, data, and control activities across the company. The role connects US GAAP performance, capital considerations, and operational KPIs to inform leadership decisions.

The position leads defined workstreams, partners across Finance, Technology, and business units, and may mentor peers while not being the primary people leader for FP&A.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
• Ten years of financial analysis experience in insurance, financial services or investment management.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting/finance and data analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting, analyzing US GAAP results, KPIs, and trends across an international organization.
• Develop clear commentary linking financial outcomes to operations, market conditions, and risks.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning with coordinated inputs and model maintenance.
• Create executive dashboards and reporting packages with reliable metrics and actionable conclusions.
• Collaborate with Finance, Technology, Actuarial, Accounting, and business units to align data definitions and resolve reporting questions.
• Lead or support FP&A workstreams, coordinating contributors and documenting decisions.
• Utilize Power BI and analytics tools to deliver governed reporting experiences and data warehousing support.
• Contribute to modern finance platforms and data structures, including Oracle and AWS, defining business needs and validating outputs.
• Design data governance, controls, and data quality standards for decision-making.
