Job summary
SteelPoint Capital Holdings is seeking an FP&A Lead to own budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. You will build the 2027 budget, stand up KPI dashboards, and drive financial AI initiatives.
You will present insights to the CEO, President, and CFO and influence major decisions. You will collaborate with HR for headcount planning, work with multiple platforms, and define the platform's KPI set across real estate, lending, and services divisions.
Qualifications
- Two to four years of experience in banking, corporate finance, FP&A or public accounting.
- Advanced Excel and/or AI modeling experience.
- Working knowledge of accrual accounting and financial statements; CPA or CFA progress is a plus.

- Produce monthly management reporting packages for CEO/President/CFO and leadership team with variance commentary.
- Own monthly and quarterly board/investor financial summaries and presentations.
- Turn close numbers into insight within three business days.

SteelPoint Capital Holdings is a Pittsburgh based family of companies spanning real estate investment, private capital lending (Loans for Landlords), real estate property management, accounting and advisory services, marketing, and a growing private capital platform. We are scaling quickly, we run on EOS, and we hold ourselves to a standard of institutional quality reporting and controls while keeping the speed and heart of a founder led business.
The FP&A Lead is the analytical engine of the Finance team. You report to the Chief Financial Officer, and you own budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, KPI dashboards and the financial analysis behind our biggest decisions. The Controller owns the accuracy of the historical numbers; you own what they mean and what happens next.
This is a build seat. Our reporting is good, and it needs to be great. You will build the 2027 budget, stand up the KPI dashboards our leadership team runs on, and lead our financial AI initiatives. You will present to the CEO, President, and CFO regularly and you will see your analysis turn into action quickly.
- Produce the monthly management reporting package for the CEO, President, CFO, and leadership team: consolidated and by company, with written variance commentary that explains the why.
- Own the monthly and quarterly board and investor level financial summaries and presentations.
- Turn the Controller's closed numbers into insight within three business days of close.
- Build and own the annual budget for every operating company. The 2027 budget is your first major deliverable.
- Maintain a rolling 12 month forecast updated monthly with the close.
- Build the models behind capital raises, new lending products, acquisitions and hiring decisions.
- Own headcount planning with HR and the CFO.
- Define and maintain the KPI set for each company and the platform: loan originations and portfolio performance, investor capital, real estate occupancy and NOI, services margin, and Customer Acquisition Cost analysis.
- Build and own Power BI dashboards fed by QuickBooks Online, our lending platform, InvestNext, Hemlane, and other operating softwares.
- Own the data pipelines and definitions so every number has one source of truth.
- Lead the Finance team's adoption of AI tools.
- Deliver one measurable AI win per quarter as a company rock: automated variance commentary, forecast drafting, dashboard narration or similar.
- Document and train the team on what works.
- Be the analyst in the room for pricing, capital allocation and investment decisions.
- Run scenario analysis on interest rates, deployment pace, fundraising outcomes, and expense plans.
- Answer the question behind the question.
- Two to four years of experience in an investment banking or corporate finance rotation, an FP&A seat, or public accounting audit at the senior level.
- Advanced Excel and/or AI modeling. You build three statement models, and you can explain every driver.
- Working knowledge of accrual accounting and financial statements. CPA or CFA progress is a plus, not a requirement.
- Power BI, SQL or Python experience is a strong plus. Willingness to learn them is required.
- You write clearly. Your variance commentary reads like a memo, not a data dump.
- Predictive Index profiles such as Analyzer, Strategist or Scholar are typical of people who thrive in this seat.
- You want to grow. This seat is designed to become Director of Finance for the person who earns it.
- People who thrive here often come from a bank or corporate finance development rotation, a Big Four or regional public accounting audit senior role who wanted to move to the business side, or an FP&A analyst seat at a growing company.
- You will build the reporting and planning function of a multi company platform from the ground up, with the CFO as your direct mentor.
- You will present to the CEO and see your work turn into decisions the same week.
- You will lead our financial AI initiative and build skills that will define the next decade of finance careers.

Base salary of $75,000 to $100,000+ depending on experience, plus a performance bonus tied to budget delivery, reporting timeliness and AI initiative milestones. Support for CPA or CFA continuation.
