Job summary

CARBO Ceramics in Houston seeks an experienced FP&A professional to own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. You will build and maintain executive dashboards in Power BI, model data with SQL and Python, and partner with Sales and Production to drive informed business decisions.

The role requires strong accounting knowledge, advanced Excel, and experience with SAP ECC or similar ERP, with on-site work at the Houston headquarters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a finance or analytics-related field.
• 5+ years in financial planning/analysis or corporate finance.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Advanced Excel with complex formulas and financial modeling.
• Proficiency in SQL with multi-table joins and CTEs.
• Experience building Power BI data models and DAX measures.
• Python for data work with NumPy and Pandas.

Responsibilities

• Own annual budget, long-range plan, and rolling forecast models.
• Create monthly variance analyses and accompanying commentary.
• Develop executive dashboards in Power BI with robust data models.
• Extract and transform data from SAP ECC and SQL Server using SQL, Power Query, Python.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and executive reporting.
• Analyze revenue, costs, and plant performance to identify margin drivers.
• Collaborate with Sales and Production to integrate operational data.
• Automate reporting pipelines and document systems logic for auditability.
