Job summary

Buncombe County Government in North Carolina is hiring two Financial Analysts to join the FP&A team. These full-time roles report to the FP&A Manager and support budget development, forecasting, debt and cash flow analysis, and financial reporting.

The positions offer flexible hybrid work (about 50/50 in-office and remote) with the requirement to live within a 2-hour drive of a Buncombe County facility, and require a bachelor's degree plus five years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field with five years of relevant experience.
• Experience in planning and managing a governmental or business program.
• Strong knowledge of budget, procurement, and accounting practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fiscal regulations and policies are implemented and all related matters are compliant.
• Support annual operating, multi-year, and special budgets with data collection and consolidation.
• Manage and improve financial analysis and forecasting within the Finance department.
• Prepare and communicate financial data, including internal and external reports, dashboards, and presentations.
• Assist departments in evaluating internal control frameworks and performance monitoring.
• Support contract and grant elements for audit, compliance and performance.
