Job summary

The University of North Carolina System is seeking a Budget Analyst to support the development, administration, monitoring, and reporting of operating and capital budgets across the System Office. The role involves analyzing financial performance, preparing projections, and guiding resource allocations to enable informed decision-making.

Hybrid work arrangement with at least three days onsite weekly in the Dillon building, downtown Raleigh.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or bachelor's with 1–2 yrs experience in relevant field.
• Knowledge of applicable statutes, regulations, and budgeting practices.
• Ability to communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor operating and capital budgets for UNC System Office and assigned areas.
• Prepare budget projections, reports, and regular/ad hoc analyses.
• Provide guidance on funding sources and resource allocations to stakeholders.
• Respond to department questions on processes, tools, and allowable uses of funds.
• Ensure compliance with UNC System policies and state requirements while promoting accountability.
