Job summary

Fortegra is seeking an FP&A Analyst in Jacksonville, FL to support budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis for insurance and services businesses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, public accounting, investment banking, or related area; internships considered for entry-level candidates.
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables, with ability to maintain structured financial models.
• Foundational understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to validate data and investigate discrepancies.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills to explain findings to finance and business colleagues.
• Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work on-site at Fortegra’s Jacksonville office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, dashboards, and review materials for FP&A leadership.
• Collect, consolidate, and validate AOP and reforecast inputs; track assumptions and items with business partners.
• Update and maintain financial models and program-level performance data with approved inputs and version control.
• Compare actual results with budget/forecast; research variances and explain trends.
• Analyze insurance and service business drivers: premiums, fees, loss/expense ratios, and program profitability; learn metrics with FP&A leadership.
• Coordinate with Accounting to reconcile reports to results and investigate discrepancies with Actuarial/Underwriting/Operations inputs.
• Assist with operating expense, headcount, and cost allocation analysis and identify risks or opportunities.
• Support scenario modeling, profitability analysis, and other ad hoc projects under FP&A leadership.
