Job summary

CFGI in the Greater NYC area is seeking a strategic Managing Director for the FP&A Advisory practice. You will influence client financial decisions, drive go-to-market growth, and lead cross-functional teams on business transformation initiatives.

You will build relationships, manage engagements, and expand CFGI’s footprint in finance excellence. The role requires extensive FP&A expertise, M&A exposure, and deep knowledge of finance technologies to deliver high-impact outcomes for top clients in

Qualifications

• 12-15+ years of finance experience, ideally in consulting or professional services.
• Proven track record of generating new business and expanding client relationships.
• Executive-level communication and stakeholder engagement with senior leaders.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and commitment to building a high-impact consulting practice.
• Advanced understanding of the FP&A function within a finance organization.
• Experience with three-statement financials and modelling.
• Engagement management experience and ability to develop people and teams.
• Ability to balance internal firm and client needs concurrently.
• Transactional experience (M&A, divestitures, refinancing, capital raises) a plus.
• Experience with analytics, forecasting, and finance technologies.

Responsibilities

• Influence clients’ financial and business decisions as a key FP&A MD.
• Drive growth of CFGI’s FP&A Advisory practice with go-to-market strategies and client relationships.
• Lead or support project teams delivering business transformation aligning finance with strategy.
• Diagnose client challenges, propose finance-focused solutions leveraging CFGI assets.
• Develop understanding of sales and spending trends to manage financial risk and opportunities.
• Provide business partnering and deliver quality reports and analyses for decisions.
• Support CFGI business development and participate in proposal development.
• Stay current on technology innovations in digital analytics and CFO ecosystem.
