Job summary

REACH Academy Charter School seeks a dedicated fourth-grade teacher to deliver standards-aligned instruction using REACH's curriculum and available classroom technology. You will differentiate instruction, assess progress, and maintain a safe, organized classroom.

The role requires NYS teaching certification and a commitment to equity, inclusion, and high student achievement. Salary is placed on the district salary scale with experience-based steps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; Master's degree preferred.
• New York State teaching certification appropriate for the position required, eligibility for reciprocity, or the ability to meet applicable charter school teacher requirements.
• Knowledge of elementary education and NYS Next Generation Learning Standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction appropriate for fourth-grade learners.
• Prepare and implement daily lesson plans that include whole-group, small-group, differentiated, and center-based instruction as appropriate.
• Teach assigned content areas using REACH's curriculum, instructional resources, and available classroom technology.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs and learning styles of individual scholars.
• Regularly assess scholar understanding and academic performance through formal and informal assessments.
• Use assessment and achievement data to identify learning gaps, adjust instruction, and provide targeted support.
• Maintain a safe, organized, welcoming, and academically focused classroom environment.
• Establish and consistently implement effective classroom management routines, procedures, and expectations.
• Build positive relationships with scholars while serving as a professional and encouraging role model.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of scholar grades, assessments, progress, attendance, and other required information.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding scholar progress, achievement, behavior, and areas of concern.
• Prepare progress reports, report cards, and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
• Implement REACH routines, procedures, curriculum, and instructional expectations with fidelity.
• Submit lesson plans, unit plans, grades, and other required documentation within established timelines.
• Participate actively in professional development, instructional coaching, staff meetings, and weekly team planning.
• Be receptive to coaching and feedback and implement recommended instructional improvements in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with special education staff and other service providers to support scholars with IEPs and other individualized learning needs.
• Consistently analyze scholar data and engage in reflection to strengthen instructional practices.
• Participate in school-wide activities, events, and initiatives that support the REACH community.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School or school administration.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

• A minimum of aBachelor's degreefrom an accredited college or university; Master's degree preferred.
• New York State teaching certification appropriate for the position required, eligibility for reciprocity, or the ability to meet applicable charter school teacher requirements under New York State law.
• Knowledge of elementary education, instructional best practices, and the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards.
• A demonstrated commitment to student achievement and accountability.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• A belief in and commitment to REACH Academy Charter School's mission, core beliefs, and educational philosophy.

Prior successful elementary classroom teaching experience is preferred.

REACH Academy Charter School utilizes a teacher salary scale. Salary placement is based oncertification status and eligible years of prior teaching experience.

A certified first-year teacher with no prior teaching experience currently starts at$45,000. REACH recognizes up to 10 years of eligible prior experience for placement on the salary scale, withStep 10 currently paying $65,830.

Final salary placement will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, certification, and verified prior experience.
