Solum Health is seeking a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer for Healthcare Operations to drive integrations of Annie AI with customer systems such as EHRs, CRMs, or spreadsheets. You will lead conversations with operations managers or IT teams, explaining tradeoffs clearly and shaping integration strategy.
The role emphasizes hands-on coding with agents, reviewing changes, and ensuring reliability of live productions.
The role is about getting Solum's insurance automations running inside each customer's existing setup, whether that is an EHR, a CRM, or a mix of spreadsheets and shared inboxes. A strong candidate has taken integrations live on their own, is comfortable with APIs, webhooks, authentication and messy data, and can run a call with an operations manager or IT team and explain tradeoffs plainly. Healthcare or early startup experience is a plus.
How it fits the AI era
Coding agents write most of the code here, so engineering time shifts toward directing agents, reviewing changes carefully, writing tests, and owning what reaches production. What stays human is learning how a practice really runs, earning trust on customer calls, deciding what makes an integration reliable, and noticing patterns across customers that should become product features.
How it builds AI experience
Daily hands on work with coding agents on real production integrations is built into the job. Because the product automates benefit checks and prior authorizations, the role also gives experience putting AI driven workflows into live healthcare operations and monitoring whether they keep working. To prepare, build a small integration with an agent and write down how it was reviewed and tested.
