Job summary

DSM-H Consulting seeks a seasoned Foundry Tool Designer to design tooling in Creo using established standards and best practices for No-bake molding, with the objective to improve quality and reduce lead time on tooling construction.

You will RFQ tooling projects, design new pattern tooling, resolve casting issues, re gate and simulate, and collaborate with managers, tool designers and pattern makers to drive tool build direction and process flow on the shop floor.

• 5 years of relevant experience in foundry tooling.
• Degree required: Associate or Bachelor.
• Internships not accepted as job experience.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling in Creo for No-bake molding to improve quality and lead times.
• Handle RFQ tooling, pattern tooling design, and tooling optimization.
• Resolve casting issues, re-gate, and perform flow simulation.
• Collaborate with managers, tool designers, pattern makers and engineers on tool build direction.

Job description

- Design foundry tooling in Creo software using standards in place and best practices for No-bake molding process with the objective to improve quality and reduce lead time on tooling construction

Typical task breakdown

• RFQ tooling, Design New Pattern Tooling, resolve casting issues, Re-gate, Simulate, all other tasks as needed.

Interaction with team

• Interact with managers on directions and priorities of workflow.
• Interact with Tool designers and Engineers for tool build, process flow.
• Interact with Pattern Makers for tool build direction.

Team Structure

Managers, Foundry Tool Designer, Manufacturing Engineer, Programmer, Pattern Makers, Pattern Technicians.

Work environment

• Foundry production setting. Cold in winter, Hot in Summer
• Common office computer desk setting
• Shop floor environment.

Top 3 Skills

• Foundry Engineer Experience. (Tools Quotation, Casting Scrap defects analysis & resolution, Foundry process knowledge, no-bake process, cold box process)
• Foundry tooling Design Experience. (Pattern and core boxes, Complex modeling, intuitive knowledge of P/L, offsets, clearances, layout in tool build, no-bake process, cold box process)
• Creo modeling and flow simulation analysis using SolidCast

Additional Technical Skills

• Machining print reading and geometric tolerance understanding
