Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in San Leandro, CA, seeks a skilled foundry operator to melt alloys, match molds and quality paperwork, and preheat shell molds for casting. You will follow safety practices, monitor furnace temperatures, and maintain accurate metal inventories.

This hands-on role requires basic math, English communication, and the ability to use measuring devices and spectrograph checks. Training and development are available; paid time off, holiday pay, and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to use simple to moderately complex measuring devices and fixtures.
• Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
• Experience and/or training considered in hiring.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and housekeeping practices to maintain a clean work environment.
• Melts alloys, preheats molds, and pours into molds per specifications.
• Regulates furnace temperatures and monitors heat numbers and alloy checks.
• Inspects molds for defects and maintains accurate metal inventory records.
• Operates the online computer system and follows quality procedures.
• Communicates with leads and supervisors to prevent production issues.
• Performs start-up/shut-down procedures for mold burn-out ovens and related safety measures.
• Relines and maintains melting furnaces; understands ITAR/EAR compliance when required.
• Keeps documentation aligned with QCPs and quality system manuals.
