Job summary

Prismhr Hire is seeking a Foundry Equipment Design Engineer to design, develop, and improve equipment used in foundry operations, including material handling systems and sand processing equipment. The role requires hands-on CAD work, collaboration with customers, and close coordination with manufacturing for cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design for industrial equipment and a strong background in green sand foundry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience designing industrial equipment; foundry equipment preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop foundry equipment and systems from concept through manufacturing and installation.
• Create detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of material.
• Design conveyor systems, sand handling equipment, screening and sizing systems, bucket elevators, hoppers, and related machinery.
• Perform engineering calculations for capacity, throughput, horsepower requirements, structural integrity, and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with customers to determine project requirements and develop effective solutions.
• Work with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
• Review and approve shop drawings and fabrication details.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate existing equipment and recommend improvements for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
