Job summary

Incident IQ is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Engineering team in a zero-to-one build role. You will define reliability standards, build scalable monitoring, and own incident response from day one.

You’ll collaborate across teams, drive SRE best practices, and help scale the platform for K-12 districts nationwide. The role emphasizes hands-on work, independent ownership, and fast iterations in a startup-like environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent formal training.
• Experience with SRE practices and reliability initiatives.
• Experience implementing SLI/SLOs and error budgets.
• Strong knowledge of observability tooling and incident management.
• Experience with automation and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Define and own SRE practices including SLOs, dashboards, and burn-rate alerts.
• Design and run chaos engineering exercises to validate reliability.
• Lead incident management and on-call practices with tooling like PagerDuty.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability and observability.
• Automate manual operational tasks and manage cloud infrastructure.
