True Talent Solutions Partners is seeking a hands-on software leader to join the founding engineering team for an early-stage AI video software startup. You will architect and build backend systems and AI infra powering new video experiences, while setting engineering standards and guiding best practices.

You will design scalable distributed systems, develop agentic workflows and video pipelines, and drive reliability with testing and observability.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years of backend software experience, incl. startup environments.
• Experience building scalable backend and distributed systems, data processing, and asynchronous workflows.
• Industry experience with TypeScript and AWS services.
• At least 12 months designing and building agentic systems, LLMs, or generative AI.
• Experience as a technical lead, setting direction and coding standards.
• Formal CS degree and fluent English communication.
• Authorization to work without visa sponsorship.

About the Role

Join the founding engineering team at an early-stage AI video software startup. In this hands-on technical leadership role, you will build the backend systems and AI infrastructure that power new video experiences while helping set the team's engineering standards.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build scalable backend systems for AI-powered video products.

• Develop infrastructure for agentic workflows, video generation pipelines, reinforcement learning loops, and real-time data processing.

• Own distributed systems architecture and improve reliability through automated testing, performance benchmarking, and end-to-end observability.

• Partner with researchers, engineers, and designers to create product features and APIs.

• Set technical direction and engineering guidelines, write high-quality code, and document technical decisions.

What We’re Looking For

• Five to ten years of backend software engineering experience, including work at an early-stage or high-growth startup.

• Experience building scalable backend and distributed systems, large-scale data processing, information retrieval, and asynchronous workflows.

• Industry experience with TypeScript and AWS, including relevant services and infrastructure.

• At least 12 months of industry experience designing and building agentic systems, LLMs, or generative AI, preferably at a technology company.

• Experience as a technical lead, setting direction and code standards for a team.

• A formal degree, strong computer science fundamentals, and fluent English communication skills.

• Authorization to work without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site, five days per week in San Francisco, California.
