True Talent Solutions Partners is seeking a founding backend engineer to design core systems for an AI-powered video platform. You will lead scalable backend development, own distributed architecture, and set engineering standards in a fast-growing startup

On-site in San Francisco, you will collaborate with research and design teams to implement features and APIs, shaping the technical direction and ensuring robust, observable systems.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of backend software engineering experience, including early-stage or high-growth startup experience.
• Experience building scalable backend and distributed systems, large-scale data processing, information retrieval, and asynchronous workflows.
• At least 12 months of experience designing and building agentic systems, large language model applications, or generative AI systems.
• Industry experience with TypeScript and AWS; familiarity with S3, Lambda, RDS, SQS, ECS, FastAPI, Docker, and CI/CD is relevant.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and system design; formal degree; fluency in English; experience leading technical direction and setting code standards.

About the Role

Join a small, early-stage team building AI-powered video technology. As the founding backend engineer, you will lead the design of core systems and help establish engineering practices that support reliable, scalable product development.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Five to ten years of backend software engineering experience, including work at an early-stage or high-growth startup.

• Experience building scalable backend and distributed systems, large-scale data processing, information retrieval, and asynchronous workflows.

• At least 12 months of industry experience designing and building agentic systems, large language model applications, or generative AI systems.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $225,000 to $275,000. Visa sponsorship is not available.
