Job summary

Pace, the AI operations platform for insurance, seeks a Founding Security Engineer to shape its security function from the ground up. You’ll work across application, infrastructure, GRC, and AI security while partner­ing with product teams to move fast yet safely. This is a rare chance to build security at pace and scale with the company.

You’ll collaborate with customers, auditors, and leadership to automate compliance and raise the security bar across Pace.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in security engineering or a deeply technical security role.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals; read and write production code.
• Depth in at least one security discipline such as app, cloud, product, or detection.
• Experience securing modern cloud applications and cross-layer threats.
• Ability to reason about risk pragmatically and communicate with engineers and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Build security into our product by partnering with engineers on architecture and secure practices.
• Make agentic AI systems safe by defining security boundaries and controls.
• Own application security to identify vulnerabilities and improve testing and reviews.
• Scale the security program with robust controls, monitoring, and incident response.
• Help own GRC and enterprise security, working with auditors and customers.
