Job summary

Skilled US seeks a Founding Director to establish Skilled WV in Charleston, WV. You will start as a one-person shop, designing the program, enrolling students, and building partnerships. Over time you’ll hire a team and scale systems to sustain growth.

You will lead efforts to align training with employer needs, track outcomes, and report progress to funders, ensuring integrity and impact in a rural Appalachian context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 6+ years of equivalent experience.
• Five+ years in workforce development, adult education, or related field.
• Experience launching or leading a program, startup or early-stage setting.
• Experience building employer and community partnerships, especially in rural/appalachian contexts.

Responsibilities

• Stand up Skilled WV in Charleston from the ground up and translate vision into a working program.
• Design the program model, operations, and day-to-day workflows for a new site.
• Build employer and community partnerships and coordinate partner outreach.
• Recruit and enroll students; coach and mentor through enrollment, training, and placement.
• Track enrollment, outcomes, and reporting with integrity; manage funding compliance.
