Job summary

WVU Foundation is seeking a Senior Director of Foundation Relations to lead and advance private foundation fundraising across the WVU enterprise. The role drives identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of foundation support.

This senior officer will work with WVUF, WVU and related entities, oversee a major gift program, and guide proposal development and funder strategies to meet organizational priorities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage the full foundation fundraising lifecycle—from identification to stewardship.
• Proven experience in leading major and principal gift fundraising, including grant writing.
• Strong strategic planning, relationship building, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the WVU Foundation foundation fundraising program and portfolio.
• Develop foundation proposals, budgets, materials, and timelines; coordinate submissions.
• Guide strategy and stewardship for current and prospective foundation funders.
• Collaborate across WVUF, WVU and health system units to align priorities and opportunities.
