Job summary

HealthCorps, Inc. in Charleston, WV seeks an entry-level Regional Program Coordinator to implement a community-wide wellness program for teens and families.

You will train and supervise near-peer mentors, partner with universities and schools, and drive health education activities across multiple sites in the greater Charleston area. You'll cultivate relationships with district staff and community partners, coordinate mentor scheduling, and support logistics for health-promoting events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or Associate's degree/equivalent years of experience in a related field.
• Recent college graduate with a passion and commitment to the health, education and service fields.
• A self-starter, organized, detail-oriented and creative individual.
• Experience with, or interest in, serving as a mentor to teens and building and cultivating relationships.
• Passion for addressing health disparities in a community and/or educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Train, deploy, and supervise near peer college mentors from area universities to help deliver HealthCorps' proven program in local middle and high schools.
• Engage current and potential community stakeholders, including school, district, and university staff as well as strategic program partners, student wellness officers, and local alumni to develop a network of individuals and organizations with the common goal of improving the health and wellness of the community.
• Develop Strong Relationships with local universities, community partners, schools and district staff to ensure effective delivery of health and wellness programming across 10–20 school sites.
• Build and Lead a Team by supporting recruitment, application, training, onboarding, and ongoing oversight of near-peer mentors.
• Assess Your Community’s Needs and Progress by researching health inequities and measuring impact through reporting and tracking.
• Share and Make Aware of HealthCorps initiatives through social media and stakeholder communications.
