Job summary

avoltra is seeking a Founding Product Engineer to join the early team and shape an enterprise-grade energy procurement platform. You will own the full product lifecycle, collaborating with customers and founders to convert market data and energy dynamics into scalable solutions.

You will design and implement robust backend services and intuitive frontend interfaces, while exploring time-series forecasting and linear optimisation to reduce energy costs. Munich-based with some remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals for robust, scalable web apps.
• Ability to own features end-to-end from design to deployment.
• Experience collaborating with customers to translate objectives into requirements.
• Interest or experience in time-series forecasting and/or linear optimisation.
• Comfort working across backend and frontend with modern tech stacks.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the full product lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Translate product objectives into requirements in collaboration with customers.
• Design iterative solutions for procurement and energy problems.
• Develop performant backend services for data-intensive apps.
• Build intuitive user interfaces for a complex decision-support system.
• Train time-series forecasting models for power consumption and renewables production.
• Develop linear optimisation algorithms to reduce customer energy costs.
• Help shape the core tech stack (PostgreSQL, TypeScript, React, Python).
