Job summary

Pelican Brewing Company in Yachats, OR is opening a brand-new location and is building its founding team ahead of the September opening. The Prep Cook will help ensure a smooth flow of food service, maintain a clean space, and uphold Pelican’s guest service standards in a high-energy setting.

Ideal candidates have kitchen restaurant experience, an Oregon Food Handler’s card, and the stamina to work on their feet in a busy, loud kitchen while following safety guidelines and Pelican menu knowledge.

Qualifications

• One year kitchen restaurant experience preferred.
• Oregon Food Handler’s card required.
• Understanding of safe food handling practices.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift items as needed.
• Ability to work in a loud restaurant environment.
• Willingness to assist other personnel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary guest service and communicate effectively with team members.
• Maintain prep area, kitchen line and dish area in a clean, organized state.
• Follow food safety guidelines and First In, First Out procedures.
• Maintain daily/weekly cleaning checklists and food logs.
• Demonstrate proper knife handling and safe food handling.
