Job summary

ShopMy, a fast-growing unicorn in the United States, seeks a founding PR & Communications leader to build our earned media function. You will shape stories, channels, and voices, partnering with founders and the Head of Marketing to turn data, product milestones, and market trends into compelling narratives that raise brand awareness.

You’ll own strategy, relationships, and execution across business, trade, creator, technology, and consumer media, driving impact from day one.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years in communications with earned media focus in agency and/or in-house roles.
• Strong relationships in business/trade, creator/tech, or consumer/lifestyle media.
• Proven editorial judgment for timely, credible storytelling.
• Excellent writing across pitches, briefs, quotes, bylines and social content.

Responsibilities

• Lead ShopMy's earned media strategy and channel execution.
• Develop stories, audiences, spokespeople, and opportunities across media.
• Manage media relations with reporters/editors across business, tech, marketing, retail, fashion.
• Draft talking points, quotes, and prep founders for interviews and appearances.
• Turn product launches and partnerships into repeatable media moments.
• Plan for rapid response and crisis communications in real time.
• Scale the PR function and hire junior talent as needed.
