Job summary

Success Matcher Recruitment collaborates with an early-stage hardware and AI company to build intelligent DC power distribution for AI data centers. The role offers hands-on ownership of hardware from prototype to deployable design, working closely with the founder in a small team.

You will design 800V-class power systems, bring designs from simulation to lab test, and iterate with AI tools. On-site in Detroit, you will drive critical engineering choices and shape the foundational hardware

Qualifications

• 2+ years designing, prototyping and testing power electronics systems.
• Ownership of hardware development from prototype to working system.
• Ability to reason through electrical, thermal and mechanical tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Design 800V-class DC power conversion and distribution systems with SiC.
• Own hardware development from prototyping to lab bring-up and validation.
• Model and simulate circuit performance and thermal behavior.
• Lead hands-on testing of high-power hardware and troubleshoot issues.
• Apply AI tools to accelerate circuit design, simulation, and testing.
• Coordinate PCB fabrication, sourcing, and packaging with partners.
• Drive engineering tradeoffs for performance, reliability and manufacturability.
• Help establish engineering processes and early hardware architecture.
