Job summary

RED Engineering Design Limited seeks an Associate Electrical Engineer specializing in Direct Current power systems for AI-ready data centres. The role focuses on establishing in-house DC design and modelling capabilities, developing reference designs, and acting as the subject matter expert for DC power system design and assurance.

You will collaborate with R&D to evolve designs, train engineers and ensure standards compliance, with a focus on European markets and future data centre

Qualifications

• Deep technical understanding of DC power distribution, system topology and efficiency modelling.
• Knowledge of power electronic conversion, protection methods and fault interruption strategies.
• Understanding DC vs traditional infrastructure for data centres and AI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Establish in-house DC design and power modelling for high-density data centre infrastructure.
• Develop reference designs for DC AI factory infrastructure in collaboration with R&D.
• Act as the central SME for DC power system design, modelling and technical assurance.
• Create design guidance, calculation methods and training pathways for upskilling AC engineers to DC.
• Lead the development of DC power distribution concepts for AI-ready data centres.
• Develop DC power system studies including load flow, voltage drop and fault conditions.
