Discord is spearheading an Enterprise Technology platform from the ground up. The founding engineer will define the discipline, set the technical foundation, and build a self-service platform that replaces manual workflows with code-driven, auditable processes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building and operating production software and systems at a technology company.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals; write production code in Python, TypeScript, and Rust.
• Deep hands-on IAM experience (SSO, SCIM, OAuth/OIDC, RBAC) and fluency with IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD.
• Experience treating endpoint and fleet management as an API-driven engineering surface at scale.
• Platform-as-a-product mindset; built self-service tooling that teams adopt.

Responsibilities

• Manage the device fleet as code with versioned, API-driven infrastructure.
• Automate the identity layer from SSO to account workflows via code and CI/CD.
• Own app delivery and IaC with deployment pipelines and provisioning patterns.
• Build self-service APIs, CLIs, and portals for automated access and membership flows.
• Define technical direction and architecture; write RFCs and docs for future teams.
