Job summary
Aptos is seeking the founding technical leader of a new payments unit to own the end-to-end payments stack, partner integrations, and KYC/AML efforts. You will hire and guide the first engineers, make build-vs-buy decisions, and shape the technical roadmap in a high-growth blockchain fintech environment in the Bay Area.
You bring 8+ years building payment infrastructure at scale, experience with banks and regulated partners, and hands-on expertise in distributed systems. Move or Rust a plus.
Qualifications
- 8+ years building payment infrastructure at production scale.
- Hands-on chain-native settlement experience: stablecoin rails, ramp integrations, wallet infrastructure.
- Front-facing gravitas: banks, issuers, and regulated partners as peers.
- Product engineer's instincts: bottoms-up from client/partner needs; resell internal products.
- Player-coach: ship code, then hire people better than you at parts of it.
Responsibilities
- Own the Aptos Payment API and ledger of payments end-to-end.
- Lead partner integration efforts and technical diligence with financial institutions.
- Define and govern the trust and settlement infrastructure.
- Interface the payments stack with trading and RFQ workflows.
- Hire and mentor early engineers; guide architecture and make build-vs-buy decisions.
