Job summary

Aptos, a high-performance Layer 1 for financial services, seeks a founding Technical Leader to build the payments unit. You will own the payment API, lead partner engagements, and define the trust and settlement stack while shaping the engineering culture and hiring the first team members.

You will own the early 90-day milestones, including the Payment API v1, testnet sandbox, and revenue attribution groundwork, with a chartered focus on delivering a revenue-generating payments platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building payment infrastructure at production scale.
• Hands-on chain-native settlement experience: stablecoins and related systems.
• Front-facing gravitas with banks, issuers, and regulated partners.
• Strong product engineering instincts and ability to resell internal assets.
• Player-coach leadership: ship code and hire strong teammates.

Responsibilities

• Own the Aptos Payment API spec, ship, and operate the integration.
• Lead partner-facing engineering with banks, EMIs, PSPs, and issuers.
• Own trust infrastructure: KYC/KYB, settlement rails, testnet sandbox.
• Define API contracts with the trading stack and enable seamless handoffs.
• Hire and lead the first two engineers and guide build-vs-buy decisions.
